Schools Challenge 2011 at The Oxford Gun Company - what a great day!

Schools Challenge 2011 at The Oxford Gun Company - what a great day!

The Biggest Prize fund in clay shooting history for young shots - £70,000 for 2011!

The Schools Challenge at The Oxford Gun Company. What can I say about it?

Well, it's just getting bigger and bigger, and the atmosphere is so friendly, with our competitors so polite and clearly having a great fun day out clay shooting!

It was great to once again have the fantastic support of our sponsors, and including one of our new sponsors for 2011 (Cotswold ATV) which have come in to try and give the events a little something different, with the 4x4 course open for people to try their hands driving the new Polaris Ranger - the best ATV’s on the market!

Then the next new thing for 2011 is the Seeland Welly Wanging competition - this idea was from Simon Esnouf of Seeland for people to have some fun and to show off Seeland's new welly range - and you could even win a pair for yourself! If you didn't have a go at Oxford it'll be on at Bredon too, and maybe even the C.L.A Game fair, so make sure you go and see what people are talking about!

One of the amazing achievements of the day was that we had the first ever 50 straight at The Schools Challenge, shot by Will Allan. Will has shot all the Schools Challenges since we started. Will's an all round game and clay shooter, and is also a great young ambassador for shooting, with his enthusiasm for country sports. So you all best keep an eye on him at the Bredon Schools Challenge, for the Browning Schools Challenge Champion of Champions 2011!

I personally would like to thank all of the sponsors, and the Oxford Gun Co team behind the scenes of the Schools Challenge - if it weren't for them it wouldn't be possible for the Schools Challenge to be where it is today, and we are all looking forward to seeing everyone at Bredon School on the first bank holiday weekend in May (Saturday 30th April, Sunday 1st May & Monday 2nd May 2011) - it will surely be one of the best shooting and country sports weekends in 2011!

Many thanks, and I hope to see you all at Bredon School.
